Royer's Flowers & Gifts collects cards for area military veterans

Intelligencer Journal - 12/4/2018

Royer’s Flowers & Gifts is collecting cards and coloring pages for area military veterans now through Dec. 4 as part of the American Red Cross’s “Holidays for Heroes” program.

Cards may be dropped off at any Royer’s during normal business hours. Free coloring pages are available at the stores or can be downloaded at royers.com/holidaymail.

The Red Cross offers these guidelines for preparing cards:

— Use generic salutations such as “Dear Service Member,” as cards addressed to specific individuals cannot be delivered through this program.

— Include messages of support and thanks.

— Sign your name.

— Don’t include letters or other personal information, such as photos or addresses.

— Refrain from choosing cards with glitter.
